Every tenancy should start with a formal check-in which takes place before the tenant moves themselves or their belongings into the property. On check-in day our lettings specialist will meet the new tenant to complete tenancy documents and handover keys, as well as ensuring that all the essentials - such as smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms - are in good working order. In addition, the tenant will be made aware of where energy and water meters are located, and meter readings will be taken where possible.
Our check-in service also includes an inspection of the general condition of the property which will be confirmed with photographs and a final report. By documenting fully the state of the property upon check in, and agreeing this with the tenant, the landlord is further protected when the tenancy ends.
